WW2 era Iranian-made fighting dagger, made in Iran during Allied occupation; dated 1945; rare type

Description Iran WW2 fighting dagger dated 1945, rare original Iranian-made type in great condition, considering the age. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM. Rare original WW2 era Iranian “Persian dagger” type fighting knife made during Allied occupation. Likely a bring-back by an American GI; a hard-to-find WW2 fighter nowadays. This exact type is illustrated on page 169 of THE MILITARY KNIFE & BAYONET book by Homer M. Brett – a well-established expert an author of many books on the subject of US military edged weapons (see the book’s page scan attached). This specimen is used but it is in better-than-usual condition for the type. The blade is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. This fighting dagger is about 11″ / 28 cm overall; the blade is about 6-5/8″ / 17 cm long. Gold-inlaid Persian royal crest / IRAN 1945 on side of ricasso; the rest of the blade is unmarked. Polished horn handle with brass wire and bronze pommel and cross guard. All parts are tight with no play; the sheath did not survive.
