The official British Royal Mint 1902 Coronation Medal issue struck in 1902 for King Edward VII namesake event. Large struck medal in bronze alloy; designed by De Saulles. Laurence Brown reference number 3737 in his “British Historical Medals 1760-1960, Volume 2“. The medal is about 55.6 mm in diameter; the weight is about 81.1 grams; plain rim. Original light honey-brown with some original red luster remaining – this type is VERY rare this nice as most did not age well. Not cleaned, wiped, or polished; 100% original “as is condition”. The medal is still in the original Royal Mint issue leather-bound presentation case – rare this nice and complete.
