Description Soviet Russia Hunters Union silver medal made circa 1924-1930; 47mm in diameter; AU with original patina. Rare early USSR award medal type; hard-to-find in any condition nowadays. Only a small number of these medals were produced circa 1924-1930; this type is exceedingly hard-to-find in any shape or form nowadays. The medal is actually hollow inside as the two sides of this medal were struck separately in silver and than welded together – an unusual type. Both sides are proof-marked with the early Soviet “worker” and .875 silver fitness proof mark. The reverse is also marked with the VR silversmith’s coop (Товарищество ВР) stamp; the rim is unmarked. Very attractive dark-gray patina with dark overtones; about 47 mm in diameter; about 33.2 grams. An attractive specimen in About Uncirculated condition with original patina; a couple of minor rim nicks and dark spots on obverse are noted for accuracy.
