Description Georgia WW1 Queen Tamara order 3rd Class, silvered bronze. Nicely specimen with original patina; only about 2200 were made, VERY rare type. FREE EXPEDITED SHIPPING WITHIN THE U.S. FOR THIS ITEM. Original circa 1915-1918 World War 1 era Order of Queen Tamara 3rd Class in excellent overall condition, considering the age. This type was awarded to the members of the Georgian Legion that fought against the Russians during the German Caucasus Expedition. In 1918, during the Expedition the Georgian Legion had fought alongside the Germans and the Ottoman Turks against the Imperial Russian Army. The legion’s strain was about 1,500 men. The Order was awarded to all Georgian legioners and their German officers who participated in the 1918 Caucasus Expedition. The order was instituted in 3 classes and was manufactured in Germany. Less than 2,200 awards were made in total; this military order type is VERY hard to find in any shape or form nowadays. The 3rd Class Order is made of silvered bronze; it is about 68.7 mm side-to-side by 67.8 mm top-to-bottom, about 27.7 gm with a vertical pin-back suspension. The pin appears to be made of silver. Not cleaned with original patina; a couple of minor hairline scratches on the back are noted for accuracy. This order has not been cleaned or tempered with in any way; these are the actual photos. This original Georgia WW1 Queen Tamara order 3rd Class is guaranteed to be genuine or your money back.
