Description Gray canvas rucksack from the Austrian military. Probably from the 1960’s. It has a large main compartment and two outer pockets, all with leather straps and metal buckles. Size is about 19 inches by 17 inches. Back packs are in good used condition with some of the leather straps being worn. This AUSTRIAN rucksack was based on the M31 German Mountain Pack. The M31 rucksack was designed to be attached to German WW2 type Y-straps or you can use any kind of adjustable shoulder straps. Derived from the Model 1931 Rucksack, the M41 Tornister (Knapsack) Backpack became the standard pattern used by all parts of the Wehrmacht and SS This rucksack comes with, or without the leather Y-strap, for an additional $10.00 so you must make your choice when ordering.
