Description WW2 USN Abandoned Ship Signaling Kit container for 10 Very MKII signal cartridges and MK4 Hand Projector. Rare original WW-II issue in good condition; hard-to-find nowadays. Original WW2 era US Navy issue – these flare containers were part of emergency Signaling Kits included in each lifeboat. The navy issued these kits in sealed metal cans. Inside each of these cans was a clear-plastic watertight container which contained MK4 Hand Projector flare gun, and 10 individually sealed 10-Guage signal flares of various colors. The canister is about 5-3/4 high and 2-1/2” in diameter; one small crack on the screw-on lid is noted for accuracy. An original interior cardboard spacer is still present. Most of these Abandoned Ship Signaling Kits were used as intended; most of the flare canisters did not survive. This is pretty hard-to-find WW2 era USN collectible nowadays.
